Job summary

Loop Inc. in San Francisco is seeking an AI Tech Lead Manager who will lead a small team of engineers while staying hands-on in production code. You’ll report to the Director of Engineering and own both the technical direction of the team and the growth of its people.

This is an in-person role (4+ days in the office). Half your time is coding; the other half is hiring, coaching, and setting standards across the frontend, backend, infrastructure, and our AI stack.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of software engineering experience, capable at senior level.
• Experience with TypeScript, GraphQL, Relay, React, and Node.js.
• Prior startup experience shipping end-to-end products.
• Willing to work hands-on and lead a small team.
• 2+ years of people management experience.
• Interest in AI and willingness to learn our AI stack.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for your team.
• Grow engineers with clear expectations and feedback.
• Define success and address gaps in performance.
• Ensure reliability, incident response, and on-call.
• Collaborate with product, design, and sales.
• Build and ship the AI harness and data pipelines.
• Focus on outcomes and let agents validate against data.
• Write high-quality, extensible code across frontend to backend.
• Review code to maintain engineering standards.
