Job summary

ABB in Cary, NC is seeking an internship to build and enhance AI systems. You will work onsite/hybrid, contributing to building the AI layer's agents, tools and data connectors in Python, reading from business systems via APIs and SQL.

You'll design multi-step workflows with human approval, implement evaluation sets, and ship small updates weekly. You will document what you build to help others pick up where you left off, while collaborating with the IS team.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a master's program or in the third/fourth year of a bachelor's in CS/Math/DS/IE in the United States.
• Available to continue part-time remotely for about six months after summer.
• Hands-on experience shipping Python projects with Git and tests.

Responsibilities

• Build AI agents and data connectors using Python and APIs.
• Design multi-step agent workflows with human approvals.
• Evaluate outputs with built-in evaluation sets and improve models.
• Deliver small increments weekly and document work for teammates.
