UW-Stout Polytechnic is seeking an AI Systems Engineer I/II to support, integrate, and advance AI technologies across campus. You will work on AI-enabled infrastructure, automation platforms, and governance to ensure secure, scalable deployment.

Responsibilities include system design, installation, maintenance, documentation, and collaboration with campus stakeholders. A bachelor’s or equivalent plus Microsoft server admin experience is required, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Microsoft server administration experience in physical or virtual environments.

• Identifies, troubleshoots, researches, and resolves issues on complex and non-routine systems to ensure security, confidentiality, compatibility, and functionality.
• Designs, installs, configures, tests, and maintains automation, AI-enabled systems, bots, copilots, and related equipment per customer specs.
• Supports AI infrastructure including cloud-based services, automation platforms, data connections, and security procedures.
• Documents and disseminates deployed systems and upgrades per policies and procedures.
• Establishes scalable, maintainable AI solutions aligned with infrastructure standards and security controls.
• Evaluates AI tools for security, privacy, accessibility, risk, and institutional alignment.
• Participates in cross-functional committees and governance bodies focused on AI innovation.
• Maintains inventory of institutional AI tools, agents, and services.
• Ensures proper documentation, ownership, support plans, and training materials.
