Job summary

UW-Stout Polytechnic’s Learning and Information Technology department seeks an AI Systems Engineer I/II to support, integrate, and advance AI technologies across campus. You will serve as a technical resource for AI-enabled infrastructure, automation, agents, and emerging AI tools, working under limited supervision.

You will collaborate with campus stakeholders, develop and maintain AI solutions, ensure security, privacy, and compliance, and contribute to governance and lifecycle planning of AI

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field by employment start date.
• Microsoft server administration experience in a physical or virtual environment
• Ability to work with diverse clients to understand needs and provide solutions and expertise
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Identifies, troubleshoots, researches, and resolves issues on complex and non-routine systems to ensure security, confidentiality, compatibility, and functionality.
• Designs, installs, configures, tests, and maintains automation, AI-enabled systems, services, agents, copilots, bot platforms, and related equipment.
• Supports AI infrastructure including cloud-based AI services, automation platforms, data connections, and security procedures.
• Documents deployments, upgrades, or changes according to policies and procedures.
• Establishes scalable AI solutions aligned with infrastructure standards and governance for secure operation.
