Job summary

Amentum is seeking an AI Technical Lead in Hanover, MD to direct the AI engineering team, own AI strategy, and govern AI across the portfolio. This role represents the company’s AI capabilities to Government customers and industry partners while building toward a senior lead position for the sector.

The ideal candidate will mentor teams, manage the AI lifecycle, and ensure ethical data governance and compliance, with a strong emphasis on security and mission impact.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and deploying at least one real RAG app for users.
• Experience fine-tuning open-weight LLMs and benchmarking results.
• Experience hosting models on GPU infrastructure with sizing and quantization.
• Experience delivering AI in classified or air-gapped environments with ATO support.
• Experience building access controls for retrieval pipelines and guarding LLM outputs.
