Job summary

Guidehouse seeks a Senior Consultant AI Strategist to help state agencies advance AI adoption with practical, mission-aligned strategies and implementation planning. You will translate roadmaps into actionable initiatives for responsible AI in mission support and delivery functions.

The role requires leadership in AI use case prioritization, stakeholder engagement, and change management, with strong communication to non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
• Located within the United States and US Citizen per contractual obligations.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal public trust.
• 3+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, or technology advisory roles.
• Demonstrated experience supporting AI initiatives.
• Strong understanding of AI concepts and technologies (LLMs, GenAI, ML, automation).
• Experience translating technical capabilities into business strategies and actionable plans.
• Ability to facilitate discussions with executive leadership and technical teams.
• Experience developing strategy documents and investment plans.
• Strong communication and ability to simplify complex topics for non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate development of AI strategies and roadmaps aligned to agency mission and priorities.
• Advise leadership on AI investment planning and use case prioritization.
• Lead stakeholder engagements to assess readiness, data maturity, and change considerations.
• Translate complex AI concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for business audiences.
• Identify high-impact AI use cases across programs and operations.
• Support evaluation and selection of AI technologies and vendor platforms.
• Develop frameworks for responsible AI adoption including governance, risk, and oversight.
• Facilitate workshops to build alignment across business, IT, and data teams.
• Support early-stage implementation planning including operating model and adoption strategy.
