Job summary

Wilshire Law Firm, a Los Angeles-based legal practice, seeks an AI Engineer to build and maintain AI tools, manage platforms, and support rollout of new capabilities in a complex legal environment.

The role requires a strong software engineering foundation and 5–10 years of experience, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical teammates. Claude, GPT, Grok experience is a plus, plus a focus on responsible AI.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5–10 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience building projects or tools, professionally or independently.
• Experience with AI tools and platforms such as Claude and GPT; Grok familiarity is a plus.
• Ability to assess, debug, and maintain software, including AI-assisted code.
• Strong communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
• Judgment on privacy, security, and legal considerations in an enterprise setting.
• UX experience or interest in making tools intuitive is a plus.
• Open-source contributions are valued but not required.

Responsibilities

• Build, improve, and maintain AI-powered tools and workflows to solve business problems.
• Explore and evaluate emerging AI models, platforms, and tools for adoption.
• Configure and manage AI platforms, including roles, permissions, safeguards.
• Provide technical support for AI tools requiring engineering expertise beyond standard helpdesk.
• Train employees on AI fundamentals, tools, and workflows as introduced.
• Collaborate across the firm to turn needs into usable solutions.
• Apply judgment around privacy, security, and responsible AI use.
• Maintain and improve existing solutions for reliability and usefulness over time.
