Job summary

Sterling Construction Company, Inc. seeks a seasoned software/cloud/AI engineer to partner with business and field teams. You will design, develop, and deploy AI-powered apps, automations, and dashboards using Azure, Fabric, and PowerBI.

You will turn complex data into practical tools to improve reporting and decision-making, taking ownership from concept to deployment and support. Candidates should have 5+ years in software/cloud/AI, strong SQL/REST/Python/.NET/TypeScript skills, and a degree

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, AI solutions, or a related field.
Strong programming and development skills, including SQL, REST APIs, and experience with Python, .NET, TypeScript, or similar languages.
Experience with Microsoft Azure, Fabric, PowerPlatform, or comparable cloud technologies.
Hands‑on experience developing AI solutions, automations, or data‑driven applications.
Ability to work independently, communicate with non‑technical teams, and turn business needs into working solutions.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Partner directly with business and construction operation teams to identify opportunities for technology and AI solutions.
Design, develop, and deploy applications, AI agents, automations, dashboards, and data integrations.
Build solutions using Microsoft Azure, Fabric, PowerBI, and other modern AI technologies.
Develop AI-powered workflows using tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Azure AI.
Turn complex data into practical tools that improve efficiency, reporting, and decision-making.
Take ownership of projects from initial concept through deployment and ongoing support.
Collaborate with IT, security, and business leaders to deliver a secure, scalable solution.
