Job summary

Brilliant Systems, based in Denver, seeks a senior AI solutions lead who can bridge clients and delivery. You will decide what AI is worth building, price it honestly, and write the approach document the client takes to their board.

You will be technical enough to design the system and commercially aware enough to own the number. You will run discovery with prospective clients to identify constraints, data availability, and cost of failure, write the approach document, design the architecture,

Qualifications

• Designed and delivered production AI systems.
• Capable of technical conversations with engineers and CFOs.
• Excellent written English; able to produce client-facing documents.
• Willingness to talk a client out of work to avoid the wrong build.

Responsibilities

• Run discovery with prospective clients to identify constraints, data, and costs.
• Write the approach document with recommendations, including non-build options.
• Design the architecture and hand it to delivery with reasoning attached.
• Own the estimate with the delivery lead; manage fixed-price risk.
• Stay involved through delivery to ensure the shipped system matches what was sold.

Job description

Sit between the client and the build. Decide what is worth doing with AI, and say so when nothing is.

Clients regularly ask us to add AI to something. Some of those requests are real; others are a business problem better solved with a schema change. This role can tell the difference in the room, price the real ones honestly, and write the approach document the client takes to their board. You will be technical enough to design the system and commercially aware enough to own the number.

What you will do

• Run discovery with prospective clients: what the constraint actually is, what data exists, and what a failure would cost.
• Write the approach document, including the option where we recommend they do not build it.
• Design the architecture and hand it to the delivery team with the reasoning attached, not just the diagram.
• Own the estimate with the delivery lead. On fixed-price work, being wrong is expensive.
• Stay involved through delivery so the system that ships is the system that was sold.

What we need from you

• You have designed and delivered production AI systems, not only advised on them.
• You can hold a technical conversation with an engineer and a commercial one with a CFO in the same hour.
• Strong written English. The approach document is what this role produces.
• Willingness to talk a client out of work. We would rather lose the engagement than sell the wrong thing.

Useful but not required

• A consulting or agency background where you carried a number.
• Domain depth in healthcare, financial services or logistics.
• Experience with enterprise procurement and security review.
