Job summary

Roche Diagnostics seeks an Intellectual Property Counsel/Agent to draft and prosecute patent applications, shape global IP strategy, and manage external counsel for Roche's digital pathology initiatives. You will collaborate with R&D, data science, and software teams to protect innovations in AI, computer vision, and spatial biology workflows.

The role requires 3–7+ years of hands-on patent experience, USPTO registration or active bar status, and a strong technical background in computer science

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of hands-on patent drafting, prosecution, and portfolio strategy for software/AI/computational biology.

Responsibilities

• Directly draft and prosecute patent applications (US and international).
• Manage outside counsel for drafting and prosecution.
• Formulate and execute global IP strategies for deep learning and diagnostic algorithms.
• Conduct FTO analyses, landscape reviews, and patentability studies.
• Harvest inventions with software engineers and ML researchers to support Roche IP.
