Job summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska is seeking a Software Engineer to design and maintain systems that orchestrate multiple agents, manage context, and ensure safety and compliance across conversations. The role emphasizes LangGraph-based orchestration, RAG content retrieval, and prompt architecture within an Azure OpenAI stack.

You will work with cross-functional teams, travel to the Omaha office one day per week, and contribute to healthcare AI solutions with real-world impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years in software development.
• 1-2 years building/operating production LLM or agentic AI systems.
• Experience with LangGraph, AutoGen, or graph-based orchestration in production.
• Strong Python knowledge and Azure stack expertise.
• Experience addressing retrieval quality, chunking, and live-user systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build a LangGraph-based multi-agent orchestration layer.
• Define an agent integration contract with input/output schemas and SLA.
• Maintain context across turns in multi-turn conversations.
• Implement a guardrail and safety layer for clinical/PHI handling.
• Develop RAG pipeline architecture with content retrieval strategies.
• Design and refine prompt architecture with versioned registry and testing.
