F5's Digital organization invites a Software Development Engineer (AI) internship in Seattle, WA. The role offers hands-on mentoring, collaboration on meaningful AI projects, and exposure to end-to-end development across our digital ecosystem.

You will explore ML technologies, design scalable systems, and build technical skills with guidance from senior engineers. This internship is part of the F5 Summer 2026 program with a return opportunity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Software Eng or related field.
• Programming in Python (preferred) or Java/C++/Go with API/service development and tests.
• Hands-on ML/DL concepts with PyTorch or TensorFlow including training/inference workflows.
• Familiarity with modern LLM tooling and embeddings (Hugging Face Transformers, embeddings + search).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to real-world projects across the full development cycle, with mentoring.
• Design, implement, and test code in a collaborative environment with senior engineers.
• Analyze requirements, test features, and integrate components into applications with guidance.
• Create technical documentation for designs and features, learning best practices in technical writing.
• Participate in design and code reviews to improve quality and practices.
• Collaborate to develop data-driven AI solutions using ML/AI technologies.
• Ask questions and leverage mentorship to accelerate learning.
