Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a software engineer to design, develop and deploy software applications and AI-enabled solutions in a fast-paced team. You will contribute to scalable backend services, APIs, and data-driven apps while collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.

The role involves AI/ML solution development, integration, testing, and documentation, plus adherence to secure coding, CI/CD, and modern cloud practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C++, JavaScript or TypeScript.
Fundamentals of data structures, algorithms, and OOP.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Strong analytical thinking and problem solving.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Interest in AI, software engineering, data engineering or emerging tech.
U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

Stay current with Generative AI, ML, cloud computing and modern software practices.

Job description

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
Understanding of software development fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming concepts.
Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated interest in artificial intelligence, software engineering, data engineering, or emerging technologies through coursework, projects, research, or personal initiatives.
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred: Internship, research, co-op, hackathon, or capstone project experience related to software development, AI, machine learning, or data engineering.
Preferred: Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Preferred: Familiarity with Git and version control best practices.
Preferred: Knowledge of APIs, databases, data processing, or cloud-native architectures.
Preferred: Exposure to AI/ML concepts, Generative AI, large language models (LLMs), or data analytics.
Preferred: Interest in cybersecurity, DevSecOps, automation, or data engineering.
Preferred: Experience with Python-based development or AI/ML libraries through academic projects.
Preferred: Active Security Clearance.

Core Competencies

Demonstrates strong programming skills in Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, or TypeScript, with a solid understanding of software development fundamentals and methodologies such as Agile.
