Job summary

Yowei Therapeutics is seeking a hands-on AI Software Engineer in Milpitas, CA to build internal applications, AI-assisted workflows, data systems, and secure automations supporting clinical, laboratory, manufacturing, and company operations.

The role emphasizes TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, SQL, React/Next.js, PostgreSQL or Supabase, and REST or event-driven APIs. Responsibilities include designing, testing, and deploying scalable tools with strong data-security practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, information systems, engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience building, deploying, and maintaining production software applications
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript or JavaScript, Python, SQL
• Experience with React, Next.js, or comparable frontend framework
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Supabase, or similar relational database
• Experience designing APIs, authentication, authorization, and secure workflows
• Hands-on experience with integrating LLM APIs or approved AI models into apps
• Experience with Git, code reviews, testing, debugging, and deployment
• Ability to translate operational needs into clear requirements and software

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain internal web applications, dashboards, data tools, and workflow systems.
• Develop and improve internal systems for employee, project, operational, clinical, laboratory, or manufacturing workflows.
• Build AI-assisted features using approved models and services for document processing, search, summarization, and agent workflows.
• Create evaluation datasets, test cases, guardrails, logging, and human-review workflows for AI quality and security.
• Write automated tests, perform code reviews, manage source control, and document defects.
• Monitor deployments, investigate performance issues, and communicate risks to users and leadership.
• Provide technical guidance to interns or junior developers and escalate architecture and security decisions.
• Evaluate vendors and AI tools, documenting security and data-use considerations before adoption.
