Job summary

SMBC Group is seeking an AI Security Engineer to secure its AI, ML, and generative AI platforms. You will partner with security, cloud, engineering, data, and risk teams to implement security controls throughout the AI lifecycle and enable safe, compliant AI adoption.

The role focuses on reducing AI-specific risks, with responsibilities spanning architecture, monitoring, and collaboration across enterprise teams to strengthen security posture for AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Security, CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years in cybersecurity, security engineering, cloud security, or security architecture.
• Experience designing security solutions in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls for generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, and ML platforms.
• Develop secure architecture patterns, standards, and guardrails for AI across data ingestion, model development, deployment, and inference.
• Integrate AI security requirements into software development, DevSecOps, and MLOps processes.
• Secure AI platforms and services, including Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Databricks AI, and related cloud-native technologies.
• Monitor AI environments with logging, telemetry, threat detection, and security monitoring.
• Assess AI solutions for risks such as prompt injection, model poisoning, data leakage, adversarial attacks, and third-party threats.
• Partner with architecture, engineering, data science, privacy, legal, compliance, and cloud teams to embed security requirements.
• Support AI security testing, red team exercises, incident response preparedness, and continual improvement.
