Job summary

SMBC seeks a Senior AI Security Architect to lead the enterprise AI security architecture program, setting strategy, standards, and guardrails for AI, GenAI, ML, and Agentic AI initiatives. You’ll partner with engineering, cloud, data, model risk, privacy, legal, and compliance teams to embed security across the AI lifecycle while enabling innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of cybersecurity/architecture experience.
• Experience leading enterprise security architecture initiatives.
• Knowledge of AI risk management and governance.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the enterprise AI security architecture strategy, standards, reference architectures, and guardrails for AI, GenAI, ML, and Agentic AI solutions.
• Lead secure-by-design architecture patterns across data ingestion, model development, training, deployment, inference, RAG, agent orchestration, and operations.
• Conduct AI security architecture reviews, threat models, and risk assessments for platforms, apps, cloud AI services, and third-party AI providers.
• Identify and mitigate AI-specific threats including prompt injection, jailbreaking, model poisoning, adversarial attacks, and data exposure.
• Establish controls for IAM, secrets management, data protection, monitoring, logging, model lifecycle security, and runtime enforcement.
• Develop governance requirements for foundation models, third-party services, AI-enabled solutions, and autonomous agents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI security requirements into design, development, testing, deployment, and operation.
• Support audits and regulatory reviews by defining security controls and evidence requirements for AI-enabled solutions.
