NerdWallet is seeking a Security Software Engineer focused on AI and Automation. You will design AI-powered security systems to make secure software development scalable across our engineering org.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software or security engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python or Go for backend services and data pipelines.
• Experience with REST APIs, authentication, authorization, and observability.
• Knowledge of application security concepts and SSDLC practices.
• Hands-on experience with AI-powered systems, LLMs, and RAG pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design multi-agent LLM systems and routing logic for automated security tasks.
• Build RAG pipelines and semantic search across code and docs.
• Create automated code review to detect insecure patterns early.
• Integrate tools like GitHub, Slack, Jira, Confluence into secure workflows.
• Develop REST APIs with authentication, rate limiting, and observability.
• Maintain scalable data pipelines for codebases and document stores.
• Improve AI security with prompt injection controls and data handling.
• Advance SSDLC through automation and developer-friendly tooling.
• Remediate security risks with engineering teams; support on-call needs.
• Identify new opportunities for AI and automation within security.
