Job summary

The Emerging Technologies & Nuclear Security Fellow at Middlebury College invites applicants to pursue a research program at the intersection of artificial intelligence and nuclear/biological security. The position is in-person at the Monterey office and includes in-depth collaboration with CNS’s AI Innovation Lab.

Open to predoctoral and postdoctoral candidates with PhD in hand or ABD status, with flexible start date and preference for earlier applications.

• Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills; translate into publishable scholarly and policy products.
• Exceptional knowledge of the connection between emerging technologies and international security.
• Strong public speaking, lecturing, and teaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Publish a significant scholarly work in emerging technologies and nuclear/biological security.
• Conduct research connecting AI with nuclear/biological security and collaborate with CNS’s AI Innovation Lab.
• Provide lectures to students, staff, and visiting fellows as part of training programs.
• Present research at professional meetings and international conferences.
• Mentor students and junior staff on related research.
