Job summary

State Street is seeking an AI Security Architect to design, implement, and review security controls for AI/ML and Generative AI across its technology environment. The role partners with engineering, product security, and platform teams to ensure secure, regulated-compliant AI capabilities and risk management.

You will contribute to secure architecture patterns, guardrails, and architectural reviews, while staying informed on AI security trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–7 years in application security, product security, cloud security, or security engineering roles.
• Experience securing cloud-native applications or platforms in an enterprise environment.
• Exposure to AI/ML or data-driven systems, including model usage, APIs, or analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with secure software development practices and DevSecOps concepts.
• Experience in regulated environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design secure architecture patterns for AI/ML and Generative AI systems, including data pipelines and model access.
• Document AI security standards, reference architectures, and guardrails.
• Participate in architecture reviews for AI initiatives, providing security guidance under senior direction.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security requirements early in design.
• Perform AI-focused threat modeling for services, models, and data flows.
• Identify risks like data leakage, prompt injection, OSS vulnerabilities, and misuse scenarios.
• Suggest mitigations and compensating controls with senior architects.
