Job summary

Thinking Machines Lab Inc. is seeking a Safety Operations Lead to ensure products are safe by default while enabling rapid product iteration.

You will triage content flags and abuse signals daily, design and refine safety policies, and build tooling to speed casework. You’ll collaborate with product, engineering, security, and legal to embed safety into the product and improve detection of safety-relevant events in production.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in an operational trust & safety, content moderation, or fraud/abuse ops role with direct, recurring responsibility for a case queue.
• Experience owning policy definition, operationalization, and enforcement end to end, evidenced by specific policies or enforcement programs you've built or run.
• Direct case experience with cybersecurity abuse, CBRN-relevant risk, youth safety, or prompt injection in a production environment.
• Working familiarity with model safety and abuse risk categories and how to identify and mitigate them in a live product.
• Practical experience using AI tools to build or accelerate operational workflows, not just as a general user.

Responsibilities

• Review flagged content, safety escalations, and abuse signals daily; triage, apply policy, and take action.
• Design and refine safety policy across the product stack with cross-functional teams.
• Build and maintain tooling that speeds casework and ensures consistency in triage and ban/recovery workflows.
• Partner with product teams to embed safety into the product experience (model refusals, content flagging, account review).
• Improve observability and detection for safety-relevant events to surface faster and with better signal.
