Anthropic is seeking a Product Policy Manager for Product Risk to shape safety frameworks for new product launches. You will collaborate with product, legal, public policy, and engineering to anticipate misuses and craft balanced safeguards that enable responsible AI deployment.

This role involves evaluating risks across features, leading safety reviews, and driving policy implementations with cross-functional teams, while communicating complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background with ability to explain highly technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Understand safety policies and safety considerations for a wide range of product surfaces.
• Prioritize resources for safety mitigations in high-volume launch processes.
• Experience evaluating risk of novel products in fast-moving organizations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain risk assessment frameworks for new product features.
• Conduct comprehensive safety reviews to inform launches and mitigations.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and Safeguards teams to apply policy and enforcement expertise.
• Analyze potential for misuse and translate into mitigations.
• Leverage risk assessments to inform product safety recommendations.
• Design bespoke evaluations for products requiring tailored assessments.
• Craft policy recommendations balancing innovation and safety.
• Stay current on AI industry risks and address issues proactively.
• Contribute to regular product policy risk reports for leadership.
