JPMorganChase AI Research in New York invites a Vice President / Research Lead to drive novel AI methods and scalable solutions across the bank, collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and product teams.

You will guide early-stage research through production-scale delivery, mentoring researchers and delivering reusable assets and reference architectures, while translating research into real-world impact. A PhD and strong publication record are expected.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields with relevant AI/ML research.
• Strong publication record in top AI/ML venues (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR).
• Ability to translate research into production-scale solutions and reusable assets.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple research projects across businesses and collaborate with data scientists, applied engineering teams and stakeholders across the firm.
• Formulate problems, generate hypotheses, develop algorithms and models, conduct experiments and communicate results with high-quality code.
• Mentor AI researchers and partner with engineering and business stakeholders to drive execution and strategic planning.
• Contribute to internal and external forums through white papers, publications and presentations.
• Lead projects or major workstreams ensuring problem definitions and solutions are technically sound and aligned with business needs.
• Proactively identify and propose new research initiatives motivated by long-term business needs.
