Meta Augmented Reality AI Organization - Job Opportunity

The Augmented Reality AI Org at Meta is seeking a technical leader to join our team and work on the next generation of AI experiences on smart devices. As a technical leader, you will play a critical role in building the core AI technology powering experiences on Meta's Smart Glasses, AR Glasses, and Quest devices. We have the opportunity to develop the next computing platform driven by cutting-edge AI technologies. Last year, we launched the AI Assistant on Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses, and we are working to make it a truly human-like assistant that can see and hear, helping users accomplish tasks in the most seamless way.

AI Research Scientist Manager Responsibilities

1. Grow teams of AI and NLP experts
2. Develop technical vision, long-term strategy, and set direction for the team and organization
3. Drive execution of model and system development crucial to the end-user experience
4. Present the team's work and plans in cross-company executive forums
5. Communicate, collaborate, and build relationships with clients and peer teams to facilitate cross-functional projects

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in large language models, NLP, and multimodal modeling, with a proven track record of impacting large products in fast-paced environments
• 5+ years supporting and leading teams of software engineers and research scientists
• 2+ years of experience in building sizable organizations and supporting managers, with a total of 5+ years managing software engineering and/or research science teams
• Experience in developing large-scale AI services
• Experience collaborating across product, platform, and non-engineering teams
• Proven ability to recruit, structure, lead, and manage technical organizations, including performance management

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in deep learning, AI, or related fields
• Knowledge of ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.
• Experience training and fine-tuning large language models
• Knowledge of multi-modal modeling and computer vision
