Job description

Summary:

The Augmented Reality AI Org at Meta is seeking a technical leader to work on next-generation AI Experiences on smart devices. You will play a critical role in developing the core AI technology powering experiences on Meta's Smart Glasses, AR Glasses, and Quest devices. We aim to build the next computing platform driven by advanced AI technologies. Recently, we launched the AI Assistant on Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses and are working to make it a human-like Assistant that perceives and interacts seamlessly with users.

Responsibilities:

1. Grow teams of AI and NLP experts
2. Develop technical vision and long-term strategic direction for the team and organization
3. Drive the development of models and systems that enhance user experience
4. Present team work and plans in cross-company executive forums
5. Collaborate and build relationships with clients and peer teams for cross-functional projects

Minimum Qualifications:

1. 5+ years of experience with large language models, NLP, or multimodal modeling in research and engineering environments
2. 5+ years of leading and supporting software engineering and research science teams
3. 2+ years of experience in building and supporting sizable organizations and managing managers
4. Experience in developing large-scale AI services
5. Proven ability to collaborate with product, platform, and non-engineering teams
6. Experience recruiting, structuring, and leading technical teams, including performance management

Preferred Qualifications:

1. PhD in deep learning, AI, or related field
2. Knowledge of ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.
3. Experience with training and fine-tuning large language models
4. Knowledge of multi-modal modeling and computer vision

Compensation: $213,000 to $293,000 per year + bonus, equity, and benefits
