Job summary

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is seeking rising seniors or second-year graduate students to join the AI Research & Engineering (AIRE) internship. You will build agentic AI solutions using frontier platforms (e.g., Claude) and work with engineers to deploy production-ready workflows.

You will gain hands-on experience in governance, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration while contributing to real projects within OCC’s enterprise AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, and familiarity with Java, C++, or R.
• Coursework or project experience in machine learning, AI, or data science.
• Exposure to AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn.

Responsibilities

• Agent design & prototyping - Build AI agent workflows for a OCC functional area in collaboration with engineers in production.
• Platform integration - Connect agentic solutions with internal data sources and APIs.
• Evaluation & testing - Design tests to measure agent accuracy, reliability, and safety for production readiness.
• Governance & risk awareness - Align with governance and risk management for deploying AI in a regulated environment.
• Documentation & knowledge sharing - Document architectures and lessons learned for internal playbooks.
• Cross-functional collaboration - Gather requirements from business stakeholders and validate driver of operational impact.
