Job summary

LanceDB is seeking an AI Research Engineer to join the research team. You will explore end-to-end training flows across AI domains, helping demonstrate LanceDB’s capabilities for curation, modeling, and deployment of research pipelines.

You will publish models and papers, collaborate with engineering and product, and drive awareness of features like blobv2 and distributed indexing. A strong track record in training SOTA models is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in training deep learning models (incl. video/world models).
• Proven track record of training SOTA models in industry.
• Strong experience maintaining OSS repositories.
• Ability to map user feedback into key deliverables.
• Excellent prioritization and execution skills.
• Passion for staying up-to-date with SOTA AI research.

Responsibilities

• Show how LanceDB can be used for end-to-end training flows.
• Compare the LanceDB workflow with existing training flows through well-designed experiments, including benchmarking.
• Provide core content and work cross-function to raise awareness for features like blobv2 and distributed indexing.
• Publish models and research papers on LanceDB blog platform, social media, and AI conferences.
• Partner closely with engineering and product to provide feedback from a researcher’s perspective.
