Job summary

LanceDB is seeking an AI Research Engineer to work with the research team on end-to-end training flows across AI domains. You will help showcase how LanceDB accelerates research from data curation to modeling, with a strong emphasis on practical impact and open science.

You will publish models and research papers, discuss results with engineering and product, and contribute to improving our workflow features like distributed indexing and blobv2.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in training deep learning models (not limited to LLM).
• Proven track record of training SOTA models in industry verticals.
• Strong experience building and maintaining OSS repos.
• Ability to map user feedback to deliverables and execute efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Show how LanceDB can be used for end-to-end training from curation to modeling across domains.
• Benchmark and compare workflows with standard training flows.
• Publish models and research papers on LanceDB channels and conferences.
• Collaborate with engineering and product to provide research insights.
