Job summary

Boston University IS&T seeks a Manager to lead AI & Research Computing Initiatives within Research Computing Services. Set and drive the roadmap for AI-enabled workloads, GPUs, containers, and MLOps, coordinating infrastructure support for BU researchers and serving as a bridge to the academic community.

You will supervise the RCS team, partner with research leaders, translate needs into plans and budgets, and help advance BU's cutting-edge academic computing. Hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• Experience leading AI or ML research computing strategy.
• Knowledge of GPU capacity planning and MLOps tooling.
• Experience coordinating technical projects across teams.
• Experience supervising staff, setting priorities and hiring.
• Experience creating operational reports and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Set and drive the technical roadmap for AI-enabled research computing.
• Coordinate infrastructure support, data pipelines, and model serving.
• Lead daily work, incident management, and service requests for RCS.
• Supervise and develop the team, manage delivery and hiring.
• Create reports on system utilization and operational metrics.
• Coordinate training and documentation for RCS staff.
