Remote Jobs seeks an AI Prototyping Engineer to turn early-stage AI ideas into working prototypes using rapid experimentation and AI-enabled tools. You bridge business users and developers to validate concepts and prepare prototypes for production handoff.

You will design AI features, integrate APIs, and document prototypes while ensuring data privacy and security practices for a smooth transition to live environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, data science, or related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Ability to turn ideas into working prototypes through coursework, internships, hackathons, or professional experience.
• Strong comfort with AI development tools to create and refine prototypes, recognizing when output is incomplete.
• Experience with APIs, integrations, hosting, and deployment concepts to move prototype toward production.
• Foundational software development skills in TypeScript/React/Python or similar; advanced proficiency preferred.
• Ability to work through ambiguity and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Portfolio or examples of working projects demonstrating building and shipping functional solutions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Turn early-stage ideas into working prototypes using AI-enabled tools and rapid experimentation.
• Partner with business users, prototypers, and developers to clarify objectives and determine when a prototype proves concept viability.
• Build and refine AI-enabled features including prompt design, agent workflows, and API integrations.
• Package prototypes for handoff to development with clear structure and documentation.
• Apply data, privacy, and security practices during prototyping for production readiness.
• Review and validate all AI outputs before relying on them in prototypes.
• Evaluate prototypes for limitations and risks to decide on further refinement or handoff.
• Stay current with evolving AI tools and apply new capabilities to improve value.
