Job summary

Diamondback Energy, Inc. is seeking an AI Product Owner for Geoscience and Reservoir to lead AI product outcomes across subsurface workflows.

You will own the product lifecycle from discovery through adoption, partnering with AI Engineering & Delivery and other tech teams to ensure feasibility, productionization, and scalable, responsible AI solutions. Applicants should bring domain knowledge, product ownership experience, and AI fluency to drive reservoir characterization, development planning,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a geoscience/engineering or data-related field.
5+ years supporting geoscience or subsurface tech in oil & gas.
Experience translating workflows into clear requirements and KPIs.
Experience delivering AI/analytics products from concept to adoption.
Familiarity with geoscience tools and data platforms listed.

Responsibilities

Understand subsurface workflows and identify AI opportunities with business value.
Own product vision, roadmap, priorities, and success measures with sponsors.
Lead discovery using prototypes, simulations, data exploration, and testing.
Translate needs into product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Manage backlog, user testing, and product acceptance decisions.
Collaborate with tech, data, security, governance, and legal teams.
Represent stakeholder needs across geoscience, reservoir, planning, and ops.
Monitor post-launch performance and drive continuous improvement.
