Job summary

Jobgether, in Belgium, seeks an Engineering Manager for AI Product Development to lead a globally distributed team. You will mentor senior engineers, shape architecture, and drive AI-enabled product initiatives while staying hands-on when needed.

You will partner with Product and Design to deliver scalable AI-powered platforms, balancing performance, cost, and speed in a remote-first mode. This role requires strong technical leadership and stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience leading engineering teams and delivering technical outcomes.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities (LLMs, AI agents, RAG) into products or processes.
• Strong experience with modern web development using TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
• Ability to design scalable APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native apps.
• Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Experience with CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and production operations.
• Proven balance of leadership with hands-on delivery and accountability.
• Track record modernizing systems through automation and tooling.
• Strong architectural judgment and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of senior software engineers to achieve ownership and excellence.
• Partner with Product, Design, Operations to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions and outcomes.
• Influence product direction with user-focused decisions and meaningful outcomes.
• Design, review, and evolve scalable architectures and actionable technical plans.
• Drive AI-assisted and agentic development workflows to improve productivity and quality.
• Lead development of modern full-stack applications using TypeScript, React, Next.js, APIs and cloud services.
• Provide technical leadership across frontend, backend, data, distributed systems, and AI capabilities.
• Oversee code reviews, architecture reviews, and technical design discussions.
• Improve CI/CD, testing, observability, reliability, security, and operational practices.
