Job summary

Jupiter Power seeks a Real Time Trader in Houston, TX to lead daily real-time trading and QSE operations for its battery energy storage assets, with an initial ERCOT focus. You will optimize asset dispatch in Real Time and support Day-Ahead decisions.

The role requires 2+ years in real-time power trading or control room work, knowledge of ISOs, and a proactive, risk-aware mindset. You will work in a 24/7 schedule with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable market operations.

Qualifications

Two+ years in a Real Time Power role (control room or trading).
Working knowledge of ISOs (ERCOT, CAISO, WECC, SPP, MISO, PJM, IESO, NYISO, ISONE).
NERC certification and familiarity with energy storage technologies are advantages.

Responsibilities

Continuously manage Real Time asset dispatch to meet energy and ancillary service obligations.
Evaluate proprietary AI pricing forecasts and dispatch schedules for real-time decisions.
Coordinate with Jupiter ROC/SCADA to troubleshoot real-time communications.
Input outages and communicate with Scheduling Entities and ISOs as applicable.
Maintain a 24/7 rotating Real Time schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Monitor Real Time system conditions, outages, and constraints using ISO reports to improve dispatch decisions.
Support asset onboarding and ongoing reporting with clients and partners.
