Job summary

QualityWorks Consulting Group is seeking a Test Engineer to support software QA and AI-powered test automation for a government client. The role emphasizes validating AI-generated test cases, autonomous test execution, and ensuring reliable testing within security guidelines.

You will execute various testing types, identify defects, and collaborate with developers and client stakeholders to improve testing practices. This is a hands-on, mid-level role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5 years of software testing, QA, or quality engineering experience.
• Experience with functional, regression, integration, API, and exploratory testing.
• Familiarity with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Experience evaluating automated test results and distinguishing defects from test/data issues.
• Ability to interpret requirements, investigate behavior, and document defects clearly.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, Jira or similar defect-tracking tools, and cross-browser testing.
• U.S. Person status and ability to complete required government background/vetting documentation.

Responsibilities

• Execute functional, regression, integration, API, and exploratory testing.
• Validate AI-powered test automation and autonomous testing results.
• Identify false positives/negatives, defects, and coverage gaps.
• Investigate failures using browser dev tools, logs, and API responses.
• Validate workflows, business rules, integrations, and browser compatibility.
• Document defects, track remediation, and verify fixes through retesting.
• Maintain test documentation and traceability across requirements, tests, results, and defects.
• Follow established automation frameworks, testing standards, and runbooks.
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to clarify requirements and improve testing practices.
• Comply with government security, access-control, and data-handling requirements.
