Job summary

AMD’s AECG Pricing & Profitability Optimization team seeks a data scientist to apply AI to pricing, building AI/LLM tooling, models, and analytics platforms. You will transform numbers into business actions and partner across Pricing, BizOps, and Sales to influence gross margin.

The role blends production Python, Snowflake data platforms, and AI tooling to deliver measurable business impact, with a hybrid in-person work model in San Jose, CA.

Qualifications

• Hands-on data science / analytics experience supporting pricing, finance, sales ops, or commercial analytics.
• Experience with LLMs / generative AI — building with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG, or agent frameworks.
• Strong Python for data work with pandas, pipelines, automation, and production-grade code.
• Proficient SQL and familiarity with Snowflake.
• Applied ML—building, testing, and deploying pricing/forecasting models.

Responsibilities

• Build and own AI-driven pricing tools and automate pricing analysis.
• Drive new AI use cases using agentic workflows and RAG techniques.
• Develop, test, and refine ML models for pricing and margin forecasting.
• Engineer reliable data pipelines on Snowflake and other sources.
• Automate reporting pipelines and create repeatable KPI outputs.
• Operationalize models and monitor performance in production.
• Own a data-analytics platform consolidating pricing data for leadership insights.
• Partner with Pricing, BizOps, Sales, and Business Management Systems.
