Job summary

Herald in New York is seeking a Product Manager to own the Placement System, the broker-facing surface for commercial submissions from intake through bind. You will translate broker workflows into product decisions and ship AI-enabled features that reduce manual effort in insurance placement.

You will work directly with users from day one, partner with engineering to ship quickly, and apply AI as a productivity tool and to identify where automation meaningfully changes broker work.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of product management or closely adjacent role in a B2B SaaS environment.
• Habitual, fluent use of AI tools to draft communications, investigate problems, synthesize information, and reduce repetitive effort.
• Strong instincts for UX and an ability to simplify complex processes in a multi-stakeholder workflow.
• Comfort collaborating with engineering teams building AI-powered products and ensuring trust in AI outputs.
• Demonstrated ability to work with real users, understand operational pain, and translate learnings into crisp product decisions.
• Strong writing and clear communication in specs, Slack, and live discussions.

Responsibilities

• Own the Placement System from intake through bind for Herald’s broker-facing workflow.
• Collaborate with engineering to ship features quickly and use AI to enhance productivity.
• Define where automation adds value and where human oversight is needed.
• Expand AI-assisted coordination and agentic workflows within the platform.
• Improve document extraction accuracy and data capture flows.
• Launch new carrier integrations to unlock market access for users.
