Job summary

Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology in New York is seeking a Software Engineer II to design and build intelligent, AI‑driven systems for streaming reliability and compliance.

You will develop autonomous agents, machine learning models, and real‑time automation that transform telemetry and signals into actionable insights, aligning with engineering, product, and platform teams in an AI‑native SRE environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend development experience with AI-powered or data-driven apps and scalable APIs (e.g. FastAPI, Flask).
• Knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture for reliability and compliance.
• Practical experience in AI/ML engineering (agentic workflows, traditional ML).
• Experience with modern development practices, version control, containers, and cloud deployments.
• Strong API design, microservices, and SDLC understanding.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate intelligent, production-grade systems using real-time signals and AI-driven detection.
• Build AI-driven capabilities, including agentic systems and ML modeling for real-time health and reliability.
• Develop end-to-end data pipelines transforming telemetry into actionable insights and automated detection.
• Create scalable APIs and services delivering predictive signals and insights to teams and products.
• Contribute to observability, compliance, and deployment tooling across Disney products.
• Partner cross-functionally to embed AI into workflows (incident response, release validation).
• Drive innovation in observability and developer productivity with applied AI.
