Job summary

Lynker seeks a Meteorologist and Data Scientist Developer to support a long-term contract at the Weather Prediction Center. You will work with NOAA scientists and partners to build verification methods and forecaster tools for hazardous weather.

You will apply machine learning to predictive modeling, develop AI-driven data pipelines, and transition solutions to operations, including training materials and web-based forecaster interfaces.

Qualifications

• Degree in Atmospheric Science, Engineering, CS, or Math with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience applying AI/ML to environmental datasets.
• Experience with Python and Unix/Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with NOAA partners to develop forecast tools for hazardous weather.
• Design and train ML models to identify precursors to hazardous events.
• Develop web applications using GIS, Python, and web tech.
• Provide training materials and transition tools to operations.
