Job summary

Future of Life Institute invites a US Policy Team Member to join our Washington, DC-based, on-site role. The position supports bipartisan engagement to promote safe AI governance and robust policy development, with rolling applications and a focus on federal policy and Hill activities.

The candidate will track developments in AI and emerging tech policy, prepare educational briefings for non-experts, and identify high-impact opportunities to influence policy in a constructive direction.

Qualifications

• Experience advocating to federal legislators or officials.
• Interest in congressional experience is a plus.
• Ability to communicate complex AI policy to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Spend significant time on the Hill building bipartisan awareness of AI safety.
• Develop and implement strategies for effective AI governance.
• Track and respond to AI policy developments and emerging tech policy.
• Create informational materials and briefings for non-experts on AI policy.
• Identify opportunities to influence policy toward safe, beneficial AI.
