Job summary

MeridianLink is seeking an AI Engineer for the Trust & Explainability layer of the AI Platform. You will implement tracing across multi-agent workflows, surface explanations, and integrate open-source observability tools to help lenders and borrowers understand model behavior.

You'll work with a Staff engineer team lead, tackling hands-on engineering in a deeply technical role focused on trust, evaluation, and safety in a regulated lending context.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering delivering features in production.
• Hands-on experience building software that integrates LLMs (APIs, frameworks, RAG).
• Proficiency with Python; TypeScript a plus; strong scripting ability.
• Experience with distributed tracing or observability tooling in prod.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Build tracing across multi-agent workflows and surface explanations.
• Design and implement components for trust, explainability, and evaluation.
• Review code and contribute to CI tests for reliability.
• Collaborate with Security Operations on threat models and isolation.
• Work with product engineers to define what should be exposed at the product surface.
