Job summary

MeridianLink, Inc. is seeking an AI Engineer II to advance the Trust & Explainability layer within the AI Platform. You will implement tracing, evaluation, and explanation primitives for end-to-end agent workflows across gateway, orchestration, memory, and tools.

The role emphasizes building trust, observability, and scalable explanations for lenders and borrowers. You will work with a Staff engineer and architects to grow expertise in LLM-based systems, security alignment, and platform

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering features in production
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures and software design fundamentals
• Hands-on experience building software that integrates LLMs, agent frameworks, or RAG pipelines

Responsibilities

• Build tracing across the platform's gateway, orchestration, memory, and tool layers
• Link actions across multiple agents in a single workflow into a readable trace
• Develop developer-facing trace views to show conversations end-to-end for non-writers
• Create explanation layers that describe what the agent did, what it relied on, and why
• Collaborate with product engineers to surface explanations at the product surface
• Contribute to trust and explainability framework integration and testing
