Job summary

ExxonMobil in the Houston area is seeking an AI Engineer to provide engineering and operational support for IT platform technologies, aimed at building stable, scalable, self‑service platforms. This role emphasizes automation, infrastructure resilience, and secure, compliant operations across global IT systems.

The engineer will lead projects, mentor others, and help ensure effective integration and support of the company’s IT environment, enabling teams to focus on application delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in infrastructure & platform automation is preferred.
• Experience with operating systems in large-scale environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and manage cloud services with governance and security controls.
• Perform full platform lifecycle administration and root-cause analysis.
• Build and enhance virtualized environments and manage storage/virtualization upgrades.
• Maintain platform resiliency and support disaster recovery readiness.
• Deploy updates, troubleshoot platform-level issues, and ensure stable environments.
• Develop automation scripts, IaC templates, AI services, and deployment workflows.
• Analyze observability data to identify trends and address issues proactively.
• Execute advanced admin tasks including system refreshes and change management.
• Help define security best practices and document procedures to prevent incidents.
• Assist in writing documented processes for incident/change management and service requests.
