Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking an AI Software Engineer to design and deliver guardrail components across services and define enforcement within systems. The role will architect backend services, APIs, and integrations governing AI-driven behavior, requiring leadership and deep proficiency in Python and TypeScript.

This contract-to-hire role pays $65.00–$75.00 per hour on a W2 basis, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of software engineering experience with Python and TypeScript.
• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway).
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform in production.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver backend services and APIs that enforce system behavior across multiple services.
• Define where enforcement, filtering, and validation occur within architectures.
• Build cross-service controls and establish patterns for engineers to implement.
• Instrument and improve observability across service boundaries with logging, metrics, and tracing.
• Own shared tooling and platform components with broad reach.
• Mentor engineers on safe design and defensive programming.
