Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking an AI Software Engineer to design and deliver guardrail components across services. You will architect backend services, APIs, and integrations that govern AI-driven system behavior, with hands-on leadership and strong Python and TypeScript skills.

The role is on-site in Cincinnati, OH, with a contract-to-hire path and W2 benefits. You will mentor peers, define interfaces, and ensure cross‑service patterns and enforceable contracts.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
• Advanced experience in AWS, including Lambda, Fargate, and API Gateway.
• Advanced experience with Infrastructure as Code in production, including Terraform.
• Proven ability to design and implement scalable backend services and APIs across service boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver backend services and APIs that enforce system behavior across multiple services.
• Define where and how enforcement, filtering, and validation occur within system architectures.
• Build cross‑service controls and establish patterns for other engineers to implement.
• Instrument and improve observability across service boundaries, including structured logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.
• Own shared tooling and platform components with broad organizational reach.
• Mentor engineers on safe design, defensive programming, and failure handling practices.
