Job summary

The Intersect Group is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to build and operate AI powered developer platforms and MCP servers. You will drive automation, tooling, and scalable patterns for agentic AI in production.

You will collaborate with software and platform teams to design APIs, orchestrate microservices, and optimize cloud deployments across Azure, GCP, and AWS. Strong Python skills and DevOps mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience designing and deploying API led or microservices based applications.
• Hands-on experience building Agentic AI solutions in production environments is preferred.
• Strong Python development experience focused on automation and platform engineering.

This role will play a critical part in designing, developing, and operationalizing internal AI agent platforms, MCP servers, automation frameworks, and developer tooling that enable engineering teams to build and deploy software more effectively. The ideal candidate brings hands on experience building and deploying Agentic AI solutions in production environments, with deep expertise in Python and MCP server architecture. You will help establish secure, scalable, and repeatable patterns for AI driven development while collaborating closely with software engineers, platform teams, and technical leaders. You will contribute to the design and implementation of internal AI platforms, improve developer productivity through automation, and help define engineering standards that support the organization’s rapidly growing AI initiatives. **Key Responsibilities** • Design and build internal platforms for hosting, deploying, and managing AI agents, MCP servers, and AI powered developer tools • Develop and architect Agentic AI solutions that enhance engineering productivity and automate operational processes • Create, manage, and optimize MCP server architecture, integrations, and deployment strategies • Build automation, monitoring, security, and operational tooling for production AI environments • Develop and support API driven and microservices based solutions across cloud platforms • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure management initiatives • Collaborate with engineering teams to establish best practices for AI solution development and platform operations • Provide technical mentorship and architectural guidance to fellow engineers and platform teams **Key Requirements** • 4+ years of software engineering experience designing and deploying API led or microservices based applications • Proven hands on experience building and deploying Agentic AI solutions in production environments • Demonstrated expertise with MCP server architecture, development, deployment, and management • Strong Python development experience focused on automation, platform engineering, or AI driven solutions • Experience deploying applications to cloud environments, with preference for Azure or GCP and AWS experience also considered • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and containerized production workloads • Experience building CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions and YAML based automation • Strong understanding of developer tooling, platform engineering, DevEx initiatives, and engineering productivity solutions • Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and implementing microservices architectures • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical experience • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem solving skills • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment focused on emerging AI technologies and continuous improvement **Preferred Qualifications** • Experience with C# and .NET development • Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, or Go • Experience building AI skills, workflows, and automation using YAML and Markdown • Experience with Atlassian tools and engineering collaboration platforms • Experience supporting large scale developer platforms and internal engineering tools • Prior experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction **Work Arrangement**
