Job summary

AMD is seeking a seasoned AI performance leader to shape the product direction, benchmarking strategy, and developer tools ecosystem for AMD AI software. You will partner with engineering, architecture, developer relations, and strategic customers to ensure AMD AI platforms deliver outstanding performance and value across inference, training, and emerging workloads.

Qualifications

• Experience in software engineering, systems architecture, or performance engineering.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks and runtimes (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, ONNX Runtime, vLLM).
• Strong knowledge of GPU computing, heterogeneous systems, and model serving.
• Experience profiling, benchmarking, tracing, debugging, compilers, runtimes, or observability.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, C, HIP, CUDA or similar languages.
• Ability to analyze complex system performance and communicate to technical and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical strategy for AI performance analysis, benchmarking, profiling, and tooling across AMD platforms.
• Partner with customers and stakeholders to define product requirements and measurable success criteria.
• Analyze inference and training workloads to identify bottlenecks and suggest architectural improvements.
• Develop rigorous performance narratives, benchmark methodologies, and workload characterizations.
• Influence roadmaps for profiling, debugging, observability, compilers, runtimes, and tools.
• Translate customer needs into prioritized engineering features and optimizations.
• Engage cloud providers, OEMs, ISVs, and open-source communities to understand workflows and tooling needs.
• Define reference workflows and best practices for optimizing AI models and applications.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales to communicate AMD's capabilities and accelerate adoption.
• Represent AMD in customer briefings, forums, events, and standards organizations.
