Job summary

ByteDance seeks a Research Intern (AI/LLM Network) for a 2026 start in San Jose. This PhD-level role sits in the Technology team and focuses on designing, implementing and deploying high‑speed network technologies to support AI/LLM applications.

You will develop platforms for monitoring and diagnosing large‑scale AI networks, explore high‑performance communication frameworks, and summarize advances in papers.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a PhD in computer networking or related technical discipline.
• Experience with computer networking and network programming.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, Go or similar languages.
• Familiar with high-speed network systems including RDMA and AI network optimization.
• Experience with high-performance communication frameworks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implementation and deployment of high-speed network technologies to support AI/LLM applications.
• Develop platforms/systems for monitoring, analysis and diagnosis of large-scale AI/LLM networks.
• Research and develop high-performance AI communication frameworks and network protocol stacks.
• Review latest technologies and present innovative findings in academic papers.
