Job summary

Kognitos in San Jose, CA is seeking a Software Engineer Intern (AI-Native) for Fall 2026 to contribute to core systems and ship features end-to-end. You will write production code, participate in code reviews, and use AI-assisted workflows with Claude Code and Cursor to accelerate development.

You'll collaborate with experienced engineers in a fast-paced, iterative environment, applying fundamentals in CS and modern web stacks. This is a hands-on internship with real ownership of projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing CS degree or related field
• Strong fundamentals in programming
• Familiar with Git and collaborative development
• Solid problem-solving ability and curiosity
• Clear communicator and team-oriented

Responsibilities

• Build and ship features end-to-end with the engineering team
• Use AI-native tooling (Claude, Cursor, etc.) to accelerate development workflows
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
• Debug issues and improve system performance
• Contribute to projects across AI, automation, and data systems
• Move quickly, test ideas, and iterate in a fast-paced environment
