Job summary

Alma is hiring a Sr Product Engineer to own features end-to-end in a fast-moving AI-native product for immigration-focused legal services. You’ll work with the founding team, ship AI-powered features, and balance backend and frontend work to deliver a world-class platform.

You will collaborate with legal and product teams, use modern AI tooling, and help scale the platform significantly while shipping with quality and speed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience, with willingness to own frontend work.
• Experience building products on top of LLMs/ML.
• Proficiency in Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, containerization, and scaling microservices.
• Comfort with TypeScript, React, and modern frontend tooling.
• Experience from zero to one — shipping new products.
• Ability to leverage AI tooling and agents to speed delivery.
• Located in the San Francisco Bay Area or willing to relocate.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Work with founding team and early customers to ship an AI-powered product.
• Own features end-to-end: backend, APIs, and frontend UI.
• Collaborate with design and product to translate needs into shipped experiences.
• Engage in the full application lifecycle with high coding and testing standards.
• Operate with AI tooling to move faster while maintaining quality.
