Job summary

Alt in San Francisco is building an AI-native data platform to power healthcare decision-making. We are seeking our first Data Engineer to own end-to-end data ingestion, modeling, and production-ready pipelines that scale with the business.

You will unify fragmented data from vendors, CMS, providers, and internal apps, design canonical models, ensure data trust, and enable AI agents, analytics, and operational tooling across the company.

Qualifications

• Experience building production data systems across ingestion, warehousing, orchestration, and modeling.
• Hands-on in SQL and Python; comfortable using multiple data tooling stacks.
• Ability to design canonical data models with lineage and provenance.

Responsibilities

• Build our data foundation: move, transform, organize, and serve data across the company with warehousing and orchestration tooling.
• Unify fragmented healthcare data from vendors, CMS, providers, and internal apps into durable workflows.
• Make data trustworthy by preserving history, provenance, and source-specific nuance.
• Put data into production across backend, experiences, AI agents, and reporting systems.
• Use AI to improve data engineering: acquire, interpret, map schemas, reconcile sources, and automate work.
• Set the roadmap and standards across product, engineering, brokerage, and operations.
