Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Limited is seeking an AI-Native Software Engineer, Cloud (AWS) to design and deploy production software across On-Prem and Cloud environments for a large customer base in the U.S. You will balance build vs.

buy, emphasize performance, and apply AI to automate coding, testing, and deployment. The role requires deep AWS experience (EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, API Gateway) and server-side skills in Python/Java/NodeJS.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Fluency in leveraging AI across the SDLC including task breakdown, AI-assisted coding/testing, and automated defect resolution.
• Hands-on experience deploying production systems on AWS (EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, API Gateway).
• Server-side development with Python, Java, NodeJS, or similar.
• Experience building secure, large-scale fault-tolerant systems using technologies like Elasticsearch, CockroachDB, Oracle, MongoDB & Kafka.
• AWS certification (Solutions Architect/Developer) and/or CISSP/CCSP useful but not required.

Responsibilities

• You have proven experience as a software engineer for web applications hosted On-Prem and Cloud, supporting a large customer base.
• You know when to build and when to use a managed AWS service and justify the trade-off based on the problem.
• You think in systems and review AI-generated code or architecture to catch bugs, security gaps, or design issues under load.
• You use spec-driven development with AI as your default approach to engineering software.
• You treat performance as a design constraint, not a post-hoc tuning step.
• You quickly pick up new tools as AI evolves and adapt early.
• You weigh trade-offs decisively and drive decisions across teams with strong communication.
